Pr. Laila Sbabou (female) is an associate Professor in Genomics and Biotechnology at the Department of Biology and member of the Laboratory of Microbiology and Molecular Biology at UM5R. She obtained a Fulbright doctoral fellowship in 2006-07 at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, USA. She has expertise in plant genomics and bioinformatics through several training programs in the United States, France and Morocco. She is particularly interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in the response of plants of interest and microorganisms associated with metallic stress. She is also involved in research projects in metagenomics. She has published 26 papers in plants genomic, metagenomics, plant-microbe interaction and Bioinformatics. She is coordinating and participating in different National and international projects. Publications record https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0948-4553.
The research group is also composed of:
Pr. Jamal Aurag (male), professor of microbiology and director of the Center of Plant and Microbial Biotechnology, Biodiversity and Environment at UM5R. His research is mainly focus on Rhizobia, PGPR, endophytes, and AMF diversity and functioning, including their interactions with plants under stressing conditions especially drought, salinity, and heavy metals stress.
Pr. Kaoutar Taha (female), professor of Biotechnology and microbial biodiversity. Her main research focus on Diversity and genetic structure of lentil-nodulating rhizobia, symbiotic characterization and tolerance to drought.
Pr. Chouhra Talbi (female), professor of Microbiology from the University of Granada (2011). PostDoc at the centro de ciencas Genomicas-UNAM from 2013-2017. Since 2017, professor at UM5R. Her research is mainly focused on Burkolderia nodulating Phaseolus vulgaris.
